Anti Tobacco Campaign
Bal Bhavan Jaipur’s Anti Tobacco Campaign dates back to
our first experiences with children from underprivileged backgrounds,
especially those residing in slums and squatter settlements. For more than ten
years since then, we run this project all year round as a continuing campaign
against tobacco abuse. Each year, the month of May is dedicated specifically to
this campaign, with programmes stretching across the yearly calendar.
The pervasiveness of the problem shocked our resource persons
when they first interacted with the affected children. The complexity of the
issue can be appreciated from the fact that parents often administer chewable
tobacco products to these children to subdue their hunger. The situation is
further exacerbated by unscrupulous market practices where both retailers and
manufacturers are hand in glove in their attempt to create a ready consumer
base by getting the younger generation addicted to their products.
In the past ten years Bal Bhavan Jaipur has employed
street plays, stage presentations, poster making, poem writing and recitation,
collage making and many other activities in order to sensitise young children
and adults alike. Our efforts include periodic visits to cancer hospitals where
the children can see first-hand the terrible results of tobacco abuse. As such,
our small efforts predate the present ongoing campaign by the Government of
India to curb tobacco abuse.
The ongoing Anti Tobacco Campaign incorporates a two
pronged approach which aims to prevent children from getting addicted on the
one hand and helping addicts kick the habit on the other hand. We are dedicated
to keep the projects running for as long as necessary.

बालभवन जयपुर द्वारा गत वर्ष साहित्य सम्राट मुंशी प्रेमचंद के जन्मोत्सव पर आयोजित की गयी रचनात्मक लेखन कार्यशाला में उभरते हुए लेखक बच्चों द्वारा लिखी गयी कृतियों पर उभरते चित्रकारों ने चित्रांकन किया। इन रचनाओं को बाल भवन जयपुर से प्रकाशित "छोटे हाथ बड़ी बात" पुस्तक के दुसरे संस्करण में प्रकाशित किया। कार्यशाला में चित्रकार बच्चों ने रचनाओं पर अपनी कल्पनाशीलता का परिचय देते हुए कहानियों, कविताओं को मूर्तता प्रदान कि। पुस्तक का प्रकाशन मुंशी प्रेमचंद के जन्मोत्सव पर 3 1 जुलाई को किया जा रहा हे.

Every year, Bal Bhavan Jaipur celebrates World Earth Day
in its unique manner. For two or three days, centered around the 22nd
of April, children from a myriad of socio economic and educational backgrounds
come together to reconnect with our country’s rich cultural philosophy that
emphasises the need for a wholesome and sustainable existence.
Each day of the Maati Utsav begins with Dharti Naman. This delineates the philosophy as well as the methodology of the Maati Utsav. It is meant to reintroduce our young citizens to the Vedic school of thought which emphasised not just coexistence but harmonious coexistence with the wonderful natural world that surrounds us. With none of the religious trappings, the Dharti Naman launches the Maati Utsav with a pragmatic approach that finds a natural flow connecting the Vedic and Buddhist philosophies through to the Bhakti and Sufi saints while reminding the participants of its relevance in our contemporary lives.

The Maati Utsav engages each participant with a hands-on
approach. The Participants learn and express themselves though clay modelling,
pottery, poster making, creative writing and many other such activities. Even
when they are involved in these activities, the participants are continuously
challenging themselves to do each task in such a manner so as to do no harm to
nature. The Carbon Footprint is no longer a mere academic concept and the Maati
Utsav makes each participant appreciate and appraise their own individual
impact upon the environment. The activities seek to highlight how these
individual actions converge to form the greater impact of our society, our
country and the human species as a whole! With this understanding in place, the
children and facilitators alike are much better able to appreciate the impact
of small individual acts of awareness. These too coalesce together to have an
indelible impact on the larger scale.
The Maati Utsav collectively addresses a host of
environmental concerns such as deforestation, ozone depletion, depleting water
resources, poaching etc without individually focussing on any of them. Each
year, the Maati Utsav felicitates 10 outstanding participants who are chosen by
their peers and who further spread the message throughout the year. It is hoped
that these individuals would provide the feedback and the impetus to make the
Maati Utsav itself a self sustaining and self nurturing enterprise.

बाल दिवस पर बच्चें राज्यपाल मारग्रेट अल्वा से मिले
चाचा नेहरू के जन्मदिन पर बाल भवन जयपुर से सम्बद्ध सारस बाल केंद्र एवं गोडावण बाल केन्द्रों के बच्चों को राजभवन में राज्यपाल महोदय के निमंत्रण पर ले जाया गया जहा बच्चों के साथ राजस्थान की राज्यपाल मार्गरेट अलवा ने बच्चों को बाल दिवस के बारे में जानकारी देने के साथ उनसे नेहरू जी के बारे में सवाल पूछें। बच्चों ने इस अवसर पर बच्चों की बालमन भावनाओं को रेखांकित करते गाने प्रस्तुत किये. बच्चों के लिए राजभवन द्वारा रचनात्मक खेलों का आयोजन भी किया किया जिसमे विजेता बच्चों को राज्यपाल महोदय ने उपहार देकर उत्सावर्धन किया.
बोलती किताबे बुलाती किताबे
बच्चों को साहित्य से रूबरू करवाने के लिए बाल भवन जयपुर द्वारा मोबाइल लाइब्रेरी के माध्यम प्रयास किये जा रहे हे। इसी के तहत बच्चों के लिए स्टोरी टेलिंग, पेंटिंग एवं भाषण कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया जाता हे. जिसमे बच्चों को अपने विचारों को व्यक्त करने का मौका दिया जाता हे. ये बच्चें समाज के उस वर्ग से आते हे जिसमे किताबों की कल्पना संभव नही हे. बच्चें पुस्तकों को चाव से पड़ते हे और फिर अपनी पडी हुई कहानी, लेख पर अपने मन के विचारों को अभिव्यक्त करते हे.

बाल भवन जयपुर के धरादूत एवं वरुण दूतों की बैठक व पेडों की सुखी पत्तियों से प्राकृतिक खाद बनाने की कार्यशाला 06 जनवरी, 2013 आयोजित की गयी। बैठक में पुराने धरादूतों व वरुण दूतों ने नये धरादूतों का स्वागत किया. इस अवसर पर किचन गार्डन एशोसियसन की श्रीमती श्यामा वर्मा ने पेड़ों की प्रकृति के बारे में जानकारी देने के साथ खाद बनाने की प्रक्रिया की जानकारी दी।

बच्चों को पर्यावरण व भारतीय संस्कृति से रूबरू करवाने के लिए बाल भवन जयपुर में किचन गार्डन एसोसिएशन, वैशाली नगर जयपुर ब्रांच के सहयोग से 2 3 जनवरी, 2 0 1 3 को प्लांट्स एंड फ्लावर शॉ का आयोजन बाल भवन परिसर में किया गया. किचन गार्डन एसोसिएशन की 7 वी वर्षगाठ पर आयोजित शॉ में सदस्यों द्वारा तैयार किये गये फूलों के पौधों, सब्जियों, ट्रे -गार्डन, बोनसाई, सजावटी पौधें, फ्लावर अरेजमेंट, वेजिटेबल कार्विंग, बास्केट, रंगोली, थाली डेकोरेशन आदि प्रतियोगिताए और प्रदर्शनी लगाईं गई।

बाल भवन जयपुर द्वारा 7 वी बाल सेना ट्राफी का आयोजन भारतीय सेना के सहयोग से 5 व 6 फरवरी को किया गया जिसमे बाल भवन जयपुर की सदस्य संस्थाओं के अंडर - 1 3 व अंडर- 1 6 के बालक एवं बालिका वर्ग के 400 उभरते खिलाड़ियों ने बास्केट बाल और खो-खो खेलों में भाग लिया.
इस अवसर पर इस बाल सेना ट्राफी की कल्पना करने वाले पूर्व ओलम्पिक खिलाड़ी श्री बलदेव सिंह जी ने विजेता बच्चों को ट्राफी, मैडल और प्रमाणपत्र देकर सम्मानित किया.
